You may have noticed things have been quiet here on the blog the past couple of weeks.
As we rounded the bend into 2020 I mentioned in a post that I would soon be sharing some of my intentions for the new year/new decade. Today’s the day.
A lot of people choose a word at the beginning of each year and it becomes something of a mantra or something to help center and focus the person. Basically, it becomes an intention.
This isn’t something I usually practice, but as I got closer and closer to writing this post it became clear to me that this year will be one of discernment. Particularly in regard to my writing life.
I mentioned in a post at the end of last year that I was feeling very depleted. Like I ran out of gas right at the finish line. Creatively drained.
That makes writing hard.
I want to offer meaningful words to you in this space and I was struggling to find them.
I’m not sure what this means long-term for this space, but I know at least through the end of Lent, it means I need a break.
I’m taking a break from posting each week until at least the Tuesday after Easter.
My hope for Lamplight Stories was always that it would be a space for others to share their stories. I want to spend some time thinking about what that might look like. I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Why do you come to Lamplight Stories?
Has there been anything in particular here that has resonated with you over the past couple of years?
Is there something you’d like to see more of?
Are there people I should connect with who might have stories to share here?
Leave me a comment below and let me know, or send me an email at liz@lamplightstories. I’d love to hear from you.
I want to stay connected with you as this space evolves and the best way for us to do that for the time being is via email. If you haven’t yet, sign up for my monthly newsletter so we can stay in touch.

If you’re new here, welcome! There are many posts for you to explore while I’m resting, and I hope you do. I want to hear from you, too.
If you’ve been around awhile, thank you! I so enjoy connecting and sharing with each of you and am looking forward to continuing to do that in new ways in the coming days.
Until next time,
May you look for the light and point it out to others when you see it.
